CornPop is a personal TV-show and movie tracker. This policy explains what
information the app handles, why, and the choices you have. By using CornPop
you agree to this policy.
In short: we store only the account and library data you
create so the app can work and sync across your devices. We show no ads,
use no third-party advertising or analytics/tracking SDKs, and never sell
or share your personal data. You can delete everything from inside the app.
1. Information we collect
Account information. When you sign in, we store an
account identifier and your email address. If you use “Sign in with
Google”, Google provides your email and basic profile (name, profile
picture) to create your account.
Your library and activity. The shows and movies you
track, episodes marked as watched, watch history and statuses, ratings,
favourites, custom lists, and comments you post.
Profile. Your username, display name, and any avatar
or banner you choose.
Social connections. Follows, friends and follow
requests between you and other users.
On-device settings. Preferences such as language,
region, theme and the notifications toggle are stored locally on your
device only.
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos (beyond an
image you explicitly pick as an avatar/banner), or device advertising
identifiers.
2. How we use it
To provide the app: keep your library, sync it across your devices, and
power the social features you opt into.
To schedule local episode reminders on your device, if
you enable notifications.
3. Where your data is stored
Account sign-in and your data are handled by Google Firebase
(Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore), acting as our data processor.
Google processes this data on our behalf under its own terms —
see the Firebase Privacy
and Google Privacy Policy.
4. Third-party catalogue sources
To show posters, episode lists, cast and where-to-watch information, the app
fetches public metadata (read-only) from services such as TVmaze, Apple
iTunes, JustWatch, MyAnimeList, Wikipedia and Stremio Cinemeta; some images
may be loaded through the wsrv.nl image proxy. These requests retrieve public
catalogue data — we do not send your personal information to them.
5. What we don’t do
No advertising and no ad networks.
No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
No selling, renting or sharing of your personal data.
No push-notification tracking — reminders are generated locally on your
device.
6. Your choices & data deletion
Delete everything. In the app, go to
Settings → Delete account. This permanently erases your library,
profile and social data and deletes your login. This cannot be undone.
Notifications. Turn episode reminders on or off in
Settings at any time.
You may also email us (below) to request access or deletion of your
data.
7. Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your
account, your data is removed from our systems.
8. Children
CornPop is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly
collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided
us data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
Access to your data is restricted by Firebase security rules so that, in
general, only you (and users you choose to share with, e.g. friends) can read
your content.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be
reflected here with a new “Last updated” date.
